Situation in Gaza Deteriorating, Unbearable Sufferings for Civilians: European Official
Brussels, 5 Nov (ONA) —- High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that "the situation in Gaza and in the Occupied Territories is deteriorating by the hour, with unbearable sufferings for civilians."
"It is high time to end this war, free the hostages, ensure the unimpeded access of humanitarian aid to Gaza. And it is high time to stop violent settlers and destruction in the West Bank, and to put an end to the illegal occupation of the Palestinian Territories," Borrell added on X platform.
"No one seems to be able or willing to stop this," he continued.
"Violent settlers spread destruction, hospitals are besieged, UNRWA's activities more and more at risk," Borrell said.
The massive Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since 7 October 2023 has so far resulted in the martyrdom of 43,374 Palestinians and the injury of 102,261 others, while thousands of victims remain missing under the rubble or scattered in the streets inaccessible to rescue teams.
The Gaza Strip and other occupied Palestinian territories experience unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe due to the Israeli brutal, barbaric and heinous aggression and genocide committed against defenseless civilians in the strip and the occupied West Bank. The ongoing aggression in the Gaza Strip causes horrible health conditions following the persistent, deliberate attacks on medical buildings, hospitals and civil infrastructure, deliberately denying the entry of medical supplies and fuel needed by medical complexes, as well as preventing the access of aid convoys to the Strip in a flagrant violation of the International Humanitarian Law, Geneva Conventions and resolutions of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) amidst paralysis of the international community.
