Ramallah, 12 Nov (ONA) --- The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced that the Israeli occupation murdered at least 12,061 Palestinian students and injured at least 19,467 others, since the beginning of Israel's genocide against the Gaza Strip and aggression against the occupied West Bank in 2023.

Wafa news agency reported a statement issued by the ministry as saying that the number of students who were murdered by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the genocide reached more than 11,946, and those who were injured 18,858, while the Israeli occupation murdered 115 students and injured 609 others in the West Bank.

The statement indicated that the Israeli occupation murdered 564 teachers and administrators and injured 3,729 others in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli genocide, adding that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested at least 153 students in the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli occupation bombed and vandalized 441 government schools, universities and their buildings, and 65 affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip, in addition to 126 other schools, the statement said, noting that the Israeli occupation also completely destroyed 77 other schools.

The Israeli occupation stormed and vandalized 91 schools and seven universities in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of Israel's genocide against the Gaza Strip, the statement added. The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education confirmed that the Israeli occupation has been deliberately depriving at least 788,000 students in the Gaza Strip of attending their schools and universities since the beginning of the genocide, pointing out that the occupation has caused most students to suffer from psychological trauma and face difficult health conditions.
