Foreign Minister Receives Phone Call from US State Secretary
Muscat, 11 Jan (ONA) —— Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister received a phone call from Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State who expressed his greetings to the Sultanate of Oman’s leadership and people on the 5th anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s Accession Day.
During the call, the two sides exchanged views on a set of regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the efforts exerted to maintain regional security and stability, and the importance of backing dialogue and international cooperation in facing common challenges.
On his turn, the Foreign Minister expressed the Sultanate of Oman's sincere condolences and solidarity with the US government and people in tackling the forest fires that recently broke out in the state of California. He lauded the great efforts made by the US authorities to contain this disaster and limit its effects on the people and property.
The two sides also underlined their commitment to boostthe Omani-US partnership and the existing historical friendship ties. They also underscored their determination to continue promoting the cooperation relations in all fields and the joint coordination in a manner that contributes to consolidating the foundations of peace, stability and sustainable development at the regional and international levels.
