Iran and Israel Trade Rocket Attacks for Sixth Straight Day
Tehran, 18 Jun (ONA) --- Iran and Israel launched new rocket strikes against each other today as their aerial conflict entered its sixth consecutive day, despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for Iran’s unconditional surrender.
Iran announced that it used the first generation of its "Fateh" missiles in this morning’s attack on Israel, which penetrated Israeli defensive shields. These missiles were also deployed in the 11th wave of operations under "True Promise 3." Iran stated that the use of these missiles marks "the beginning of the end for the Israeli army’s shield," emphasizing its full control over the skies of the occupied Palestinian territories and claiming that residents there are defenseless against Iranian missile attacks.
Since last Friday, the Iranian capital, Tehran, and other Iranian cities have faced extensive Israeli strikes, which Iran has countered with large-scale missile attacks on Israeli territory.
Israel reported that two barrages of Iranian missiles were launched toward its territory this morning, with explosions heard in the skies over Tel Aviv. Israel also called on residents of the Tehran area to evacuate to enable its air force to strike Iranian military facilities.
Iranian media reported that Israel is targeting key scientific universities in eastern Iran and the Khojir ballistic missile facility near Tehran, which was also hit by Israeli airstrikes last October.
Today, Israel intensified its airstrikes on Tehran as part of a conflict that a human rights organization said has killed at least 585 people across Iran and wounded 1,326 others. The Washington-based "Human Rights Activists" organization confirmed that 239 of the victims were civilians, while 126 were security personnel.
Israel stated that 94 injured individuals were admitted to hospitals last night.
Additionally, Israel attacked a centrifuge production site and several weapons manufacturing facilities in Iran overnight. More than 50 Israeli fighter jets carried out a series of strikes on military targets in Tehran in recent hours. Among the targeted sites were facilities producing raw materials and components for assembling the ground-to-ground missiles Iran has been launching toward Israel, as well as sites manufacturing ground-to-air missile systems designed to target aircraft.
