Oman Participates in Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh
Muscat, 2 Nov (ONA) --- The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Oman Olympic Committee (OOC), will participate in the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, which will be held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during 7-21 November 2025. Oman will compete in eight sports: weightlifting, aquatic sports, esports, karate, taekwondo, athletics, para-athletics, and fencing.
This participation stems from the Committee's commitment to supporting the objectives of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association and enhancing Oman's presence in this important sporting event that embodies the values of fraternity and cooperation among athletes in Islamic countries. This participation is seen as an opportunity for the national teams to strengthen their sporting experience.

The Oman Olympic Committee confirmed that it has finalized all procedures related to participation, including the registration of teams, administrators, coaches, and athletes, in addition to preparing logistical, technical, medical, and media support, to ensure the optimal participation of athletes in all competitions.
Dr. Abdullah Khamis Ambusaidi, Vice President of the Oman Olympic Committee and Head of the Omani delegation, affirmed that Oman's participation in the Games represents a clear commitment by the OOC to supporting and promoting Omani sports at various levels. He noted the commitment to qualifying athletes for international competitions by gaining practical experience in a high-level competitive environment.

He explained that the Committee ensured the provision of all necessary capabilities and resources to guarantee a positive participation for the Omani delegation, covering administrative, technical, medical, and media aspects. This is to enable the athletes to focus on delivering their best performance in all competitions. He emphasized that these efforts complement the Committee's approach to developing the sports performance of national teams and enhancing their readiness for upcoming regional and international competitions.
He pointed out that the Islamic Solidarity Games constitute an excellent platform for strengthening cooperation and understanding among Islamic countries, and embodying the values of solidarity, cohesion, and the spirit of sportsmanship that unites the peoples of these nations. He added that participating in such sporting forums provides athletes with a valuable opportunity to build professional and personal relationships with their counterparts from participating countries, which contributes to developing their professional skills.
