400 Publishing Houses in Amman Book Fair
Amman, 29 Aug (ONA) --- The 21st edition of Amman International Book Fair will be launched on 1 September 2022 under two slogans: "Jerusalem Is the Capital of Palestine" and "Reading Is Life."
The management of the fair, which is held by the Jordanian Publishers Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the Greater Amman Municipality chose the writer Dr. Walid Saif as the cultural personality of the exhibition. Choosing him comes in appreciation of his role in spreading targeted television drama, especially historical drama.
The State of Kuwait was chosen as the guest of honour for this version of the fair.
As many as 400 publishing houses from 22 countries will take part in the book faor, which runs until 10 September 2022 either directly or through agencies.
The exhibition's cultural program includes diverse cultural, intellectual, critical and artistic events, cinematic and theatrical performances, as well as recreational activities designed for the family in general, and children in particular.
Within the cultural program, a symposium will be held on the Arab cultural scene. Ministers of culture in Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt and Palestine will take part in the symposium.
Another symposium entitled “Jerusalem in the Eyes of Kuwait,” will be also held in which the novelist Fahd Al Hendal talks about “Jerusalem in the Kuwaiti Novel”. It will include an exhibition featuring stamps and pictures documenting Kuwaiti support for the Palestinian cause.
