Oman Participates in Palestine International Book Fair
Ramallah, 14 Sep (ONA) --- The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, is taking part in activities of the 12th Palestine International Book Fair, which began at the Palestinian National Library in Ramallah today under the slogan “Palestine, is the homeland and Jerusalem the capital.”
As many as 350 publishing houses and 150 writers representing 16 countries are participating in the exhibition, which runs until 24 September 2022.
Ahmed Saud Al Rawahi, Director of Muscat International Book Fair, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, is participating in a pavilion in the exhibition. The pavilion includes a diverse collection of titles and recent publications, covering cultural, literary, artistic, jurisprudential and media aspects.
He added that this participation aims to shed light on the Omani culture, and highlight its bright civilized aspects of intellectual production, as well as heritage, literary and historical aspects. The participation also aims to extending bridges of communication with the brotherly Palestinian people.
The exhibition includes seminars, poetry evenings, and an art exhibition that includes 100 paintings by 40 Palestinian artists from Gaza Strip and the West Bank. It also includes a participation of artists with drawings featuring the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.
