Tehran, 19 Sep (ONA) --- The Omani novel titled “Dilshad” written by the Omani novelist Bushra Khalfan, has been translated into Persian, said Asghar Ali Karmi, Iranian writer and translator.

Karmi told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the novel presents visual and social details distributed between the alleys of Muscat and its old neighbourhoods, which earned the novel vast narrative horizons that enable the reader to gauge the Omani oral and traditional heritage.

Karmi expected that the Persian translation of the novel would be launched during the next edition of Tehran International Book Fair.

The novel highlights a Biography of Hunger and Satiation. It was shortlisted for the 15th edition of International Prize for Arabic Fiction (Booker 2022).

The novel "Dilshad" presents social tales overlapping in a bygone era and foreshadowing a social reality mirroring the history of Muscat, its villages and its people from different backgrounds under seemingly harsh conditions. As usual, the writer Bushra Khalfan traces footsteps of history to explore more realistic details for the reader by navigating in the worlds of history and geography.

The writer managed to interweave the narrative with customs and traditions of those social backgrounds that emerge in the novel's plot and thus creating harmony of the events.
