National Museum Launches Corner at Muscat International Airport Highlighting Oman Cultural Heritage
Muscat, 3 May (ONA) ---- The National Museum has launched a special corner in the departure hall of Muscat International Airport with the aim of enriching the cultural experience of travellers.
The cultural corner will showcase tales of communication between Oman and its civilized surroundings, with emphasis on Muscat International Airport as an additional chapter in the history of communication between Oman and the world. The corner is divided into several sections for the Omani dagger, the culture of perfumes, the Omani cultural impact in East Africa, the Daba treasure and the Samad period in Omani heritage.
The corner includes 23 artefacts that will be displayed for a period of 5 years, subject to extension and renewal. The artefacts dating back to different historical epochs.
It also includes a group of archaeological finds that reflect the culture of perfumes, which bear historical depth in Oman through the ages.
The corner highlights the Daba Treasure which consists of thousands of artefacts recently discovered at a mass burial site in that area in the eastern tip of the Musandam Peninsula.
