Workshops on Developing Cultural, Innovative Industries Launched
Muscat, 25 Feb (ONA) --- Workshops for developing cultural and innovative industries kicked off today at the Oman International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The 10-day series is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in cooperation with the National Programme for Investment and Export Development "Nazdaher". The ceremony marking the opening of the event was held under the auspices of Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.
Sayyid Said Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, said in a speech that the workshops seek to integrate and enhance innovative capabilities and promote investment in the Sultanate of Oman in line with Oman Vision 2040.
Al Busaidi added that the workshops highlight two main themes: Developing “A society whose members are innovative” and “an economy with a competitive structure”. He explained that the workshops also underline “the role of talents” and “development process rooted in culture” as two main factors for achieving a competitive and sustainable economy.
on her turn, Noor Ali Al Mahrouqi, In-charge of the Cultural and Innovative Industries Sector at Nazdaher Programme, gave a presentation about the development programme being implemented by the Ministry with the participation of government departments concerned.
