Oman Year Book Launched at Muscat International Book Fair
Muscat, 27 Feb (ONA) --- Acting in cooperation with the Cultural Committee of Muscat International Book Fair’s 28th edition, the Ministry of Information today celebrated the launch of Oman Year Book 2023, titled “Oman the Vision & the Future”.
The ceremony took place at the book fair’s venue at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Dr. Mohammed Ali Al Hinai, Head of Oman Year Book’s Working Team, said that the annual publication provides a comprehensive account of Oman’s progress in various fields of national action. “Since its first first launch in 1979, the book has been keeping pace with Oman’s progress, acting as an objective archive of national accomplishments in cultural, political, economic and social fields”, Dr. Mohammed explained.
He added that Oman Year Book is published in five languages, namely Arabic, English, French, German, and Spanish. This, he observed, allows the book to roam the world, enriching the libraries of Oman embassies and consulates, as well as the collections of international book fairs and festivals.
Dr. Mohammed pointed out that Oman Year Book is also available in digital format on the website Ministry of Information in various languages.
The celebration marking the book launch included discussions panels during which media professionals elaborated on the chapters of the year book, to which they contributed over the past period.
