First International Conference on Andalusian Cultural Heritage Held in Spain

Madrid, 7 Nov (ONA) —- The international conference on Andalusian cultural heritage began today in Granada, Spain, with historians and academics participating to highlight the historical significance of Al Andalus and discuss ways to revive its legacy.

This two-day conference is organized by the ICESCO Chair for Alliance of Civilizations at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Qatar University in cooperation with the Quality and Sustainable Development Foundation, the Arab-European Graduate Studies Foundation, the Qatar Committee for Alliance of Civilizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), the Sharia and Islamic Studies Journal at Kuwait University, the International Institute of Islamic Thought, and the Institute of Philosophical Studies in Europe, Brussels.

Secretary-General of the Qatar Committee for the Alliance of Civilizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Sada said that this conference is held amidst rapid global transformations in political, economic, environmental, and scientific spheres, which call for the remembrance and revival of the Andalusian cultural heritage that endowed human history with values of cooperation among nations, peoples, and religions, as well as numerous insights and technologies to confront various challenges, reported Qatar News Agency.

Speakers from Qatar, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Spain, the United States, Canada, India, Kenya, Jordan, Morocco, Algeria, Iraq, and Turkiye are participating in various sessions throughout the conference.
