Daily Tea and Coffee Consumption Linked to Old Age Strength: Study

Singapore, 22 Oct (ONA) --- A recent study conducted by the National University of Singapore suggested that daily consumption of tea and coffee, particularly in midlife, is associated with a lower risk of physical frailty in old age.

The research, which spanned 20 years and involved 12,000 participants aged 45 to 74, found that caffeine intake is a key factor in this association.

Those who consumed four cups of coffee daily experienced the most significant benefits, while black and green tea drinkers also saw positive effects.

The study concluded that higher caffeine intake, irrespective of the source, was linked to a reduced risk of physical frailty in late life. However, more research is needed to pinpoint the specific compounds responsible for these effects.
